Choose the Service That Fits You
Concordia offers two writing support services. Which one you use depends on your student status. Choose yours below to see appointment types, availability, and how to book.
For Undergraduate Students
Writing Studio
Work one-on-one with a trained undergraduate consultant, in person on campus or online. Bring a project at any stage, from a first idea to a final draft. Personal and creative writing is welcome too.
- In-person and online appointments
- Limited walk-in availability
- Located in the Schroeder Library and Learning Commons
For Graduate Students and More
Online Writing Lab (OWL)
Work with a consultant who is a graduate student or professional in your field. Choose written feedback on your draft or a live Zoom session, whichever fits your schedule.
- Open to graduate and nursing students, veterans, undergraduates in online courses, and CUI faculty and staff
- Written feedback returned within two business days
- Live virtual consultations available
How We Help
Whichever service you use, consultants work with you to strengthen ideas, structure, and clarity.
- Idea development. Brainstorming, refining a topic, clarifying purpose.
- Organization. Outlining, structure, flow, transitions.
- Revision strategy. Clarity, conciseness, cohesion, stronger argumentation.
- Format and citation. Documentation checks and citation guidance.
- Research integration. Incorporation of paraphrased scholarly sources.
A note on proofreading: consultants do not proofread or line edit papers. The goal is to help you build skills and strategies you can carry into your next assignment.
