LCEF Competition 2015
Calling themselves “Team Ignite,” eight Concordia University Irvine juniors and seniors earned second place at Lutheran Church Extension Fund’s (LCEF) fourth annual National Student Marketing Competition on April 10.
With a campaign tagline of “LCEF: With you every step of the way,” the students created a comprehensive marketing plan based on primary and secondary research, all to raise awareness of LCEF and how it impacts The Lutheran Church—Missouri Synod (LCMS), and ultimately communities and individuals. Teen Entrepreneurial Academy 2015
The purpose of the Teen Entrepreneur Academy is to educate, train and empower the next generation of honorable entrepreneurs (TeenPreneurs) so that they become difference-makers who lead productive, fruitful and purposeful enterprises and experience meaningful lives of integrity, serving others and making the world a better place.
Established in 2011, the Teen Entrepreneur Academy (TEA) is a hands-on, learn-by-doing, one-week residential business entrepreneurship start-up summer camp for high school students. This year’s Academy will be held July 12-18 at Concordia University Irvine. TEA teaches high school students real-world entrepreneurship, best business practices, principles of free enterprise and "how to" start and launch their own business. For pre-high school students (grades 5-8), we offer the Kid Entrepreneur Academy.

Concordia University Irvine Students Honored for Research Work
Concordia University Irvine recently announced winners of the 12th Annual President’s Academic Showcase, a campus-wide research competition that challenges students across various majors to conceive and investigate a research topic and present their findings. Students work one-on-one with a faculty mentor to complete a full-scale undergraduate research project selected from any discipline and present a research paper,an academic poster and an oral presentation.
The competition provides undergraduate students the opportunity to develop graduate-level research skills. A panel of faculty, selected from across Concordia’s disciplines, serves as judges for the showcase and evaluates projects on use of literature, choice of methodology and discussion of results and implications. Great Commission Summit 2015

The Concordia University Irvine Great Commission Summit exists to teach, equip and connect pastors and church leaders to be effective ministers of the Gospel amid the changing dynamic of global Christianity.
The 2015 CUI Great Commission Summit is a two-day event designed to engage pastors and lay leaders to better understand their place within the global Christian church so that they can better grow where they are planted.

The annual Faith and Business Forum supports Christian leaders of excellence and integrity, encouraging Christ-centered leadership. This year’s speaker is William Pollard: Chairman, Fairwyn Investment Company and Former CEO, ServiceMaster. In addition to his work at Fairwyn Investment Company and ServiceMaster, Bill has served as a director of several public companies and a number of charitable, religious, and educational organizations. He is the author of several books including the best seller The Soul of the Firm, Serving Two Masters? Reflections on God and Profit, and his newest book The Tides of Life.

Education students arrived in Melbourne, Australia and will soon head to Sydney, Adelaide and Alice Springs. They are surveying the education system in another country and helping out in classrooms so that they can gain new insight into teaching styles.
Around the World
Students are traveling with Dr. Kenney and Dr. Wright to study trains around the world. Stops include Sacramento, London, Paris and Madrid on the Railroad Travel Course!
With Dr. Loy in tow, three students are in route to Berlin to see the places of the Reformation! With the 500th of the anniversary coming next year, these students are beginning the celebration early as they travel throughout Germany in May.

Gala of Stars Extraordinary
On May 9, 2015 Concordia University Irvine held its annual Gala of the Stars supporting one of the most critical areas of need, student scholarships. A Lifetime Achievement Award was presented to renowned artist Gerald Brommer and patrons enjoyed a silent auction as well as an exciting live auction.
