Dr. Kerri Thomsen
Dr. Thomsen's most recent manuscript, "Melting Vows: A Midsummer Night's Dream and Ovid's Heroycall Epistles," was published in the June, 2003 issue of English Language Notes. Other recent publications include entries for "William Adlington" and "John Bourchier, Lord Berners" in Tudor England: An Encyclopedia, (2001); and "A Note on Spenser's Translation of Culex," in Spenser Studies XII (1998). Thomsen earned her Ph.D. from the University of Massachusetts in 1994; prior to coming to Concordia, she served as a lecturer at Clark University in Massachusetts and Albert-Ludwigs-Universitat in Freiburg, Germany.
Thea Gavin
Resident faculty member, Thea Gavin, had two poems accepted for publication in the fall, 2002 issue of "Lambs and Trochees: A Journal of Metrical Poetry."
Dr. Kerri Thomsen
Kerri Thomsen, Assisant Professor of English, recently had her work, "The Sea and the American Imagination: Essays in Honour of Manfred Putz", accepted for publication in the Autumn, 2003 volume of Transatlantic Perspectives.
Martin Schramm
Martin Schramm, professor of communication, serves on the Board for Communication Services of the LCMS and is an Advisory Member of "In Focus," the magazine for the Pacific Southwest District of the LCMS.
Dr. Kurt Krueger
In 2002, Dr. Kurt Krueger, provost and professor of English, conducted two presentations in Indonesia. The first, "What Makes a Christian University Christian?" was presented at the Ruang Seminar at the Universitas Kristen Indonesia in Jakarta. The second, "What Makes a Christian School Christian?" was presented at Sekola Pelita Harapan in Lippo Karawaci, Indonesia.
Dr. Susan Bachman
Dr. Susan Bachman, along with her husband, Dr. James Bachman, oversees participation by Concordia University students in regional and national Ethics Bowl competitions. She has also chaired sessions on ethics at national conferences.
