John Nunes
The Rev. John Arthur Nunes, Ph.D., began in 2016 as the ninth president of Concordia College-New York, an institution of the Lutheran Church-Missouri Synod, founded in 1881. Concordia is a small school, with a diverse and global student body, faithfully making a big impact on every life it touches. Professor Nunes came to this Bronxville, New York, campus from Valparaiso University (Indiana) where he held the Jochum Chair, an endowed interdepartmental professorship.
Previously, Professor Nunes has also served as the President and CEO of Lutheran World Relief (2007 to 2013), a $50 million organization with offices in 17 countries working to alleviate poverty and human suffering. Prior to that he was an inner-city pastor in Dallas, TX, and Detroit, MI.
