Q: What is Concordia's application deadline?

Scholarship deadline-April 1

Preferred Application Deadline-February 15

Q: What are the minimum admission requirements?

For most programs a 2.8 GPA and 900 SAT (Math and Critical Reading) or 18 ACT.

Q: Does Concordia prefer the SAT or the ACT?
           
Concordia University has no preference. We take whichever test has the higher score.

Q: Do I need my ACT or SAT results to submit an application?

No. You can submit an application but it will not be reviewed until we receive your ACT/SAT scores.

Q. Do I have to specify a major before I am admitted?

No. You may apply as "undecided."

Q: Is a foreign language required for admission?

No, but we prefer two years of the same foreign language.

Q: Is an interview required for the admission process?

No. An interview is not required but is strongly recommended.

Q: Do you accept Advanced Placement (AP) courses?

Yes.

Q: Do I have to begin in the fall semester?

No. A student can apply to Concordia University for the Fall, or Spring semester. We have rolling admission throughout the year for most majors.

Q: How long will it take to find out if I'm admitted?

If an application is submitted along with the necessary supporting documents, it normally should take about two to four weeks to receive an answer. During our busy time (Nov - Feb), decisions may take 4-6 weeks.

Q: How do I confirm my admission?

To confirm admission, submit the deposit card and fee to the Office of Admissions; which is $200 for all students.

Q: When do I have to make my college choice?

All colleges should notify admitted applicants that they have until May 1, the national candidate reply date, to make their college decision.

Q: Do you offer academic/merit scholarships?

Yes. Academically competitive students will be considered for Merit Scholarships based upon their GPA and standardized test scores.

Q: What does Concordia look for when evaluating applications?

We look for evidence of academic ability and preparedness, personal character, and meaningful extracurricular involvement. Each year, our goal is to assemble a dynamic and diverse incoming class while paying attention to the merits of each individual applicant.

Q: Are there specific criteria that applicants must meet, like minimum SAT scores?

No. We take a holistic approach to assessing which applicants are the best "fit" academically and personally with the Concordia University community; test scores and grades are considered in conjunction with extracurricular activities and other criteria, not in isolation.

Q: Do you have to be Lutheran to attend Concordia University?

Founded in the Lutheran tradition, Concordia University is Lutheran by design and is ecumenical in nature, welcoming students from all faiths to grow in their spiritual journey.

 Q: Can you put more than one major on your application?
Yes, we would recommend that you contact the Office of Admissions for additional guidance.

Q: Do you have 'Pre-Med' and 'Pre-Law' as majors?

We do offer a pre-med and pre-law track. Please visit the respective websites for Pre-Medical Science and Pre-Law for additional information.

 Q: Is the FAFSA form required for academic scholarship?

No. Academic scholarships are offered to students based on academic performance and is not need-based as is the FAFSA form.
