Race and Ethnicity Task Force Charter
Race & Ethnicity Task Force is meant to embody and demonstrate the critical values of inclusion,
diversity, equity, and access while advancing a diversity portfolio that reflects Concordia University
Irvine’s mission, vision, and values.
To increase an inclusive culture that fosters equitable participation and opportunities of growth for
students, faculty, and staff from diverse backgrounds, with specific attention towards race/ethnic minority
students, staff, and faculty on campus.
Task Force Scope
Based on results of the Spring 2016 Campus Climate Survey, in Fall of 2017, the IDEA Committee determined that a Race and Ethnicity Task Force should be formed for the purpose of improving campus climate for race/ethnic minority students. The Race and Ethnicity Task Force, which includes diverse student representation, was formed in the Spring of 2017 and is charged with 1) the development of a Strategic Plan for the University to address areas of concern, and 2) advising, monitoring, and assisting with implementation of the plan.
