Return of Overpayment

A "return of overpayment" is the term used to describe a check which is cut from a credit on a student's account. 

A written request may be made by coming to the Student Account office and filling out the "Request of Overpayment on a Student Account" form or by emailing the request to Student Accounts.  The request must include the student's name, ID #, amount requested and an address if the check is to be mailed. 

Return of overpayment checks are cut once a week and are made available on Friday.  The request must be received by Tuesday at noon in order to be available for Friday of the same week.  Requests received after noon on Tuesday will be processed the following week.

Please note that a credit resulting from a PLUS loan and/or payment made by the parent (or anyone other than the student) is refunded to that person unless they authorize in writing to disburse the credit to the student directly. 

• If you request your check to be mailed, it will be mailed to your mailing address.  No checks will be mailed to CUI mailboxes.
• Return of overpayment checks cannot be requested until all funds are received and posted to your account.

Refund of Charges Due to Dropped Courses or Withdrawal

Students withdrawing from the University or dropping courses below full-time status within the refund period may be eligible for a refund of charges in accordance with the University's fee schedule and refund procedures.

Students who withdraw from school after classes begin may apply in the Office of Student Accounts for refunds (i.e., tuition, room, board).  Concordia University's refund policy is determined by a weekly percentage until the 60 percent or greater point in the semester is reached.  The student is responsible for paying any outstanding charges to the university.

Dropping courses or withdrawing for the University may or may not result in a credit on the student's account.  Please contact Student Accounts for further information.
