Concordia University Activity Awards and Need Base Grants, All new students 2013-2014



First Generation Grant

Award Range:

Up to $2000

Requirements:

FAFSA required. Awarded to students who are the first in their family to attend college and demonstrate financial need.

Additional Notes:

Renewable in succeeding years (4 to 8 semesters based on class level) as long as student maintains full-time status and cumulative 2.5 GPA

Friends of Concordia

Award Range:

Amount determined by financial need

Requirements:

FAFSA required; demonstrates financial need

Additional Notes:

Renewable in succeeding years (4 to 8 semesters based on class level) as long as student maintains full-time status and cumulative 2.5 GPA

Christ College Grant

Award Range:

Up to $2000

Requirements:

Application required. Member of LCMS congregation and who intends to serve in a full time LCMS church career profession

Additional Notes:

Renewable in succeeding years if accepted into Christ College; maintains full-time status and cumulative 2.5 GPA and 2.8 GPA in certification course work.

The Lutheran Church Missouri Synod District Grants

Award Range:

Amounts vary; determined by each individual district

Requirements:

Application required.  Check with individual district for additional applications

Additional Notes:

Awarded to LCMS students preparing for full-time church work and enrolled at synodical university.

Private Scholarships and Grants

Requires individual research through business, foundations, churches and civic organizations. Deadlines and application procedures vary with each individual agency.

State and Federal Grants, All students 2013-2014

Cal Grant A

Award Range:

$9223 pending state budget approval

Requirements:

FAFSA, California Resident, California H.S. Graduate, GPA Verification post marked by March 2; based on GPA and need; intended for low and middle income students who have not completed more than 9 semesters of college work.

Additional Notes:

Cal Grant is awarded for tuition and fees only or up to FAFSA need.

Requirements:

FAFSA filed by March 2, California Resident, California H.S. Graduate, GPA Verification post marked by March 2; based on need; intended for very low income students who have not completed more than 1 semester or 16 units of part-time college work.

Additional Notes:

Grant is awarded for tuition and fees only or up to FAFSA need.

Pell Grant

Award Range:

$602 to $5550

Requirements:

FAFSA

Additional Notes:

Awarded to financially needy students enrolled in a Title IV school with an EFC range of 0 to 4995 as indicated on the SAR.


SEOG

Award Range:

up to $1000

Requirements:

FAFSA by March 2, complete financial aid file, need base

Additional Notes:

Limited funds are available; awarded on a first-come, first served basis with an EFC of 0 to 1000.

Federal Work Study

Award Range:

up to $2500

Requirements:

FAFSA by March 2, complete financial aid file, need based

Additional Notes:

Limited funds are available; awarded on a first-come, first served basis with an EFC of 0 to 1000.
