Please continue to check this web page frequently as it is updated when additional information becomes available from the Commencement Committee. You are also encouraged to share this web page with family and friends so they too have access to information about Commencement activities.

Degree Posting

Please allow 4 to 6 weeks for the final posting of your degree. Upon the completion of the semester, all applications for graduation will be reviewed and evaluated for completion of program requirements.

Diplomas

Because Summer and Fall graduates have already received their diplomas and Spring candidates have not been evaluated due to the faculty grade deadline, diplomas are not given at the Commencement Ceremony. Diplomas will be mailed approximately 6 to 8 weeks after graduation once all requirements and financial responsibilities have been meet.

Federal Loan Exit Counseling

If you have borrowed money under the Stafford Loan program, federal regulations require you to complete Loan Exit Counseling before graduating. The Financial Aid Office has arranged for you to complete the session online at www.cui.edu under Student Services, Financial Aid and then Loan Programs. Please note in-person workshops will not be held this year. If you have questions, contact Financial Aid at 949-214-3070.

Honors and Honor Cords

Honors are awarded to undergraduate students, and for the commencement ceremony, are based on the cumulative grade point average at the end of the Fall semester. Honors are not awarded to graduate programs. Students will receive honor cords at the Achievement and Milestone Ceremony on Friday, May 3 or at the staging area on Saturday, May 4. Once Spring grades are calculated, honor status will be re-evaluated and may change. Honors are calculated based on all college/university coursework ever attempted. This includes grades that Concordia may or may not have accepted toward your degree program. Honors are noted on the student's transcript and diploma.

Cum Laude 3.70 – 3.79
Magna Cum Laude 3.80 – 3.89
Summa Cum Laude 3.90 – 4.00
