Back by popular demand, this 45-piece wind orchestra, conducted by Concordia music professor, Dr. Jeff Held, will start off this summer’s music series with a rousing patriotic “concert in the park.” This all-star ensemble of college musicians and music educators will delight the audience with a variety of popular patriotic and pops selections. A perfect way to conclude your 4th of July weekend!
Sunday, July 14 – Pan-A-Cea Steel Drum and Calypso Band
Alumni Reunion activities start at 3pm - click here for more details!
This talented group is made up of a collection of world-class musicians predominantly originating from the Caribbean Islands. They thrill their audiences with a wide selection and variety of authentic Caribbean music such as calypso and soca, music which combines the melodic lilting sound of calypso with percussion. Steelband music features steel pans that are hand-made, bowl-like, metal drums that are crafted so that different sections of the drum produce different notes when struck.
Sunday, July 21 – The Silverados
A rockin’ country band from the Inland Empire, the Silverados feature musical influences from Johnny Cash and Merle Haggard to Carrie Underwood and Tim McGraw, as well as classic rock roots from the Beatles, Eagles and Journey. This talented group of musicians mix today’s popular country music with a classic rock edge. With catchy, creative instrumentals and folk-inspired harmonies, the Silverados will appeal to a wide variety of music lovers. The perfect ending for Concerts on the Green for the summer!
