Concordia University - Portland Employee Assistance Fund

While talk of the pandemic has dominated the news cycle - not to mention most of our own thoughts and actions - there have also been countless stories of generosity, goodness, and hope. Efforts to come to the aid of our brothers and sisters and Concordia University-Portland have truly been a bright light in the darkness of these times!

The closure of the Portland campus introduced much pain and anxiety. With the recent outbreak of the COVID-19 virus and the subsequent medical and financial ramifications, the faculty and staff of CU-Portland now face an even more difficult situation.

In February 2020, Concordia University Irvine and the Northwest District of The Lutheran Church–Missouri Synod formed a partnership to establish the CU-Portland Employee Assistance Fund. This effort has demonstrated palpably how the people of God care for one another in a time of real need! Over 100 donors, individuals and churches, have come together to raise over $50,000 to support employees of CU-Portland. The monies raised will go toward covering the medical premium expenses CU-Portland employees.

It is our prayer that the Resurrected Lord provides certain hope during this most difficult and unprecedented time!
