 Worship Band AuditionsConcordia provides music scholarships to talented guitarists, keyboardists, electric bass players, and drummers who want to be involved in church ministry. These guidelines help to assess the candidate’s current level of technique, musicianship, and ability, as well as potential for growth and learning whether or not the candidate has had solo experience. In person (preferred):- Play a prepared song that demonstrates your instrumental ability. This can be a favorite worship song or a special performance piece that you know well. You are welcome to accompany yourself singing or just play as an instrumentalist.
- Read one or two other music selections (provided at the audition) that demonstrate your chord knowledge and/or note reading skills.
- A brief interview
Please bring your own electric bass or guitar (we will provide the amplifier). A piano, keyboard or drum kit will also be provided if needed.By video (if the candidate is distant):Upload your video to a video hosting site (like YouTube) and email the link(s) to auditions@cui.edu (do not attach videos to emails). - Play a prepared song that demonstrates your instrumental ability.
