Biography
Professor Patty O'Connor is an instructor in the School of Education with an emphasis on language and culture courses. In 1968 , she earned her Bachelor of Arts from California State University, Los Angeles, a Teaching Credential through UCLA in 1969, and a Masters of Arts as a Language Development Specialist from Azusa Pacific University in 1996.
Prof. O'Connor has had 34 years of experience in kindergarten through 8th grades in educational settings. She was a master teacher who trained student teachers from several universities, a mentor teacher who facilitated workshops and training for fellow professionals, and Associate Teacher of the Year for the Irvine Unified School District. Her area of strong commitment is to the training and support of future educators through the Teach Academy and the establishment of the Village of Hope after school tutorial program which supports homeless children with their school work while drawing on our Concordia students to tutor. Also, Prof. O'Connor is Assistant Director of the Off- Campus Regional MA Program which facilitates educators receiving their masters degrees.
