What: Free writing workshop titled, "Do Not Let My Words Fall To the Ground: Cultivating Creative and Divine Spark in Writing"

A journey into the craft of writing, examining ambiguity and detail, shadow and light, knowing and not knowing, with side trips into opening the doors of creativity, living with imperfection, and seven good questions to ask.

Susan Palo Cherwien received her bachelor’s degree in church music and voice from Wittenberg University, the Abschlusspruefung in voice from the Hochschule der Kuenste Berlin, and a Master of Liberal Studies from Mundelein College, where she focused on spirituality, ritual, and the arts. She has written numerous hymn texts which appear in denominational hymnals in the United States, Canada, and Europe and she is the author of O Blessed Spring: Hymn Texts of Susan Palo Cherwien (Augsburg Fortress), Crossings: Meditations for Worship (Morningstar); To God Will I Sing (Augsburg Fortress); From Glory Into Glory (Morningstar); and Come, Beloved of the Maker (Augsburg Fortress). Cherwien will also be reading selections from her books during Concordia University Irvine’s Fall Festival of Hymns on October 6th.
