McGee Named GSAC Player of the Week
GSAC Players of the Week
(10/2/07 - Women's Soccer) IRVINE - Sophomore forward Trina McGee capped off a memorable week by being named the GSAC Women's Soccer Offensive Player of the Week, selected Monday by a panel of the conference sports information directors.
McGee tallied five goals in the two wins for the #18-ranked Eagles, nearly doubling her season total and accounting for half of the team's offensive output on the week. She both opened and closed the scoring in a 5-1 win on Wednesday afternoon against Hope International, then netted her first career hat trick on Saturday at home against The Master's for a 5-0 victory.
On the season, McGee has scored 11 goals, leaving her just three shy of matching the single-season record of 14 set by Amy Ross during the 2003 campaign. Her goals and points (22) totals both lead the GSAC at the midway point of the season.
Concordia (8-2-0, 2-1-0 GSAC) is back in action this Tuesday, October 2 with a trip to San Diego Christian scheduled to begin at 3:00 p.m.
