(3/27/07 - Women's Golf) GOODYEAR, Ariz. - Consecutive rounds of 335 was a welcoming sign for Concordia head coach Joey Cerulle as the women's golf team showed strong signs of improvement at the Grand Canyon Women's Invitational, Monday and Tuesday at the Palm Valley Golf Club.

Yvonne Goll turned in the low round of the tournament for the Eagles, finishing with a  79 on Tuesday to tally 161 for the two rounds. Megan Bruce was also very steady for the Eagles, dropping a shot from one round to the next and finishing the 36-hole event at 167.

Next up for the Eagles was Amanda Mathiasmeyer, who trimmed two shots from her first round total and came in at 170 over the 5,940-yard par-72 course. Olivia Nazihi was strong early with a 83 and finished at 172 for the tournament while Laura Sumpter rounded out the fivesome at 182.

Concordia is back in action this Monday and Tuesday, hosting the CUI Invitational at Skylinks Golf Club in Long Beach, the final prep meet before the NAIA Region II Championships, April 23-24 at The Golf Club at Terra Lago in Indio.
