Weather Washes Out Most of Cougar Invitational

(2/20/07 - Women's Golf) SAN MARCOS - The Concordia University women's golf team was limited to just 18 holes due to rainy conditions at the Cal State San Marcos Cougar Invitational, Monday and Tuesday at the Lake San Marcos Country Club.
While most teams were hoping to get a good look at the course that will host the NAIA Women's Golf Championships in May, Mother Nature had other ideas. The tournament was reduced to just 18 holes as all Monday rounds were washed out.
Freshman Yvonne Goll led the Eagles contingency that posted a team score of 349 with a 11-over score of 83. She shared 14th place overall with six other players as just two golfers managed to break 80.
Megan Bruce finished two shots behind Goll by carding 85 for her round while Amanda Mathiasmeyer wrapped up her round at 90. Olivia Nazihi was one shot behind Mathiasmeyer while Laura Sumpter completed the five-person team with a score of 97.
The Eagles have nearly a month before taking part in the UC Santa Cruz Invitational, March 12-13 at the famed Pasatiempo Golf Club in Santa Cruz.
