Eagles Down Seawolves, 6-3

(3/6/07 - Men's Tennis) SONOMA - Concordia's Men's Tennis team started their Northern California road trip with a win over NCAA Division II Sonoma State University, 6-3.  The match opened with singles and the men were able to capture five out six matches, paired with a doubles win, to secure the victory.

At the three, four and five singles, Concordia's Augusto Elias, Cesar Villares, and Chris Nguyen dominated their service games for the straight set wins.  At six, Bryan Newell had to battle to the third set to take the final point, going ahead for the 6-7(6); 6-2;6-0 win. 

The win gives Concordia their first victory on the spring break road trip, and improves the Eagles' record to 7-6.  CUI finishes up the road trip this week, taking on UC Santa Cruz on Wednesday, March 6th, and rounding off their trip against UC Davis, March 9th.
