Concordia Leads After First Round of TMC Spring Event

(3/31/08 - Men's Golf) SEASIDE - Junior Ryan Kelley shot a 1-under 71 to lead all players and drive Concordia to the team lead after one round at The Master's College Spring Event, Monday morning at the Crystalaire Country Club.

Kelley had plenty of company near the top of the leaderboard as Jordan Andrews was tied for 2nd overall one shot back after carding an even-par round of 72. Max Cohen finished four shots behind Andrews with a 76 while Andrew Kitching completed the team score with a 77 as the Eagles put up a team score of 296, two shots better than host The Master's.

Sterling Whitaker was the fifth member of the team and was right with his teammates after carding a 78. Four other members of the squad played as individuals and performed well. Nick Scheib came in 4th overall with a 1-over 73 round while Brad Knight finished at 78. Adam Greenaway and Joe Roberson rounded out the foursome, posting scores of 87 and 91, respectively.

Second round play is currently underway as the team works to complete its 36-hole opening day. The tournament concludes on Tuesday morning as the Eagles look to continue their strong play.
