Getting Involved

Contributing to Concordia University Irvine with Time, Talents and Treasures

There are many ways that you, as an alum, can contribute to your Alma Mater. If you are willing to make a difference then we need YOU!!

Time & Talents

Get Involved!

Concordia's Alumni Association offers many programs in which you can become involved and offer your voice and expertise on campus. Giving of yourself is one of the most powerful ways in which you can give back to your Alma Mater. The Concordia Alumni Association offers opportunities to be involved in our mentor program, networking events as well as student recruitment.

Volunteer to greet new students!

The Alumni Association helps welcome the new students each year. This year there were two activities where alumni helped greet our newest Eagles.

  • New Student Move-In Day
Provided drinks and refreshments to new students and their families as they moved into the residence halls.

  • New Student Mugging
Gave each new student a Concordia mug and free root beer float.

Contact the Alumni Office for more information by calling 949-241-3178 or email alumni@cui.edu.

Reunions!

Do you want to help organize a class reunion for your graduating class? If so, please email alumni@cui.edu.

Were you involved with a club and want to see your friends again? Want to reminisce with friends from your residence hall? Visit alumni.cui.edu to join the online community and reconnect with students who shared your experience. Also, email alumni@cui.edu and let us know! We can help you organize your reunion.

Host a "Dine with Alum" Event!

If you live within 30 minutes of campus you can volunteer to host a dinner for CUI students. As the host of "Dine with an Alum" you may choose the time, date and number of students you wish to host, and the Alumni office will take care of your guest list. You may choose to host a specific group of students such as Inreach, SHOUT or you can host students within a specific discipline or major. This is a great opportunity for you to meet with current students and to learn first hand what changes are taking place on campus.

Host a Regional Event!

Approximately 80 percent of our alumni live within driving distance of Concordia University. However, for those outside of Orange County, regional events are intended to serve the alumni that are unable to attend homecoming and other campus events. If you are interested in hosting, or simply being involved in, a regional event in your area, please let us know. We are very interested in hearing from alumni currently living in Los Angeles, Phoenix, Las Vegas, Northern California, Palm Springs and St. Louis. We would love to help coordinate an event in your area!

Be Involved In A Networking Event!

The Alumni Association is looking to host networking sessions geared toward alumni in specific fields. The events will encourage communication between alumni that work in the same arena and assist those that are looking for jobs as well as looking for new employees. This is a great opportunity to talk with others in a similar field and learn more about potential opportunities.

Actively Pray For the CUI Community!

The Lord has blessed Concordia University in many ways. We ask for your continued prayers as we continue to grow and provide a challenging education to future church workers and business leaders. Your time and prayers are greatly appreciated!

A Personalized Alumni Brick

One of the most exciting ways in which you can make a gift to Concordia and leave your name on the CU campus is to have a personalized alumni brick engraved with your name and class year. The bricks are set into the ground in front of the Student Union each year as reminder of the legacy you leave. A $100 donation to the university will reserve your place in the Student Union walkway and represent daily the dedication you have for your Alma Mater.

To have a brick personalized, please contact the Alumni Office.

Annual Fund Support

Concordia University will always be an important part of your life and it has helped shape who you are today. Your support of the Annual Fund allows us to continue to offer a quality education to deserving students who are pursing a Christian education. The value of your Concordia University diploma depends on the quality of CU. Your gift and gifts from other alumni to the CU Annual Fund help make the difference in the lives of students. Your gift supports all areas of university operations: student programs, faculty programs, curriculum, the CU library as well as extracurricular activities. CU depends on the support of its alumni to continue offering an education that meets the highest of standards.

Annual Phonathon Support

Each year in the fall, the Office of Alumni Relations assists in increasing the percentage of alumni giving through alumni phone support. Our phonathon team is made up of current Concordia students who are interested in continuing the highest quality and Christian education here at Concordia. Alumni giving rates are a significant factor when publications like U.S. News & World Report rank the nation's top universities. The more alumni who support CU, the more prestigious CU's reputation grows. The more prestigious CU's reputation, the more valuable your CU degree becomes.
