First-Time College Students
A first-time student is a current high school student who will be attending a college or university for the first time. Entering freshmen may submit an application any time after the completion of their junior year of high school. To apply to CUI as a first-time student, follow the steps below.

Concordia University evaluates applications on a rolling basis.
Recommended College Prep Curriculum
- English: 4 years
- Mathematics: 3 years (including Algebra II)
- Science: 3 years (including 2 years of Lab Science)
- History: 2 years
- Foreign Language: 2 years of the same language
First Year Profile
- Average GPA: 3.45 (unweighted)
- Average SAT: 1033 (critical reading and math)
- Average Composite ACT: 23

- Official High School Transcript
Official transcripts must be sent directly from the high school in a sealed envelope or hand-carried to Concordia University Irvine.
Note: CUI grants college credit for Advanced Placement test scores.

- Letter of Recommendation
All applicants must submit a Letter of Recommendation from a guidance counselor or teacher.
- Official SAT and/or ACT scores
All freshman applicants must submit official scores from SAT and/or ACT. Scores must be sent directly from the testing institution to the Office of Undergraduate Admissions. SAT School: 4069; ACT School: 0227. Copies are considered unofficial documents.
Note: If you submit more than one SAT score, we use the highest score from each section (critical reading and math) and combine them into a super score. Equally, we also use the highest composite ACT score.
