International Students

International Education Requirements

• First Year Students:
• Minimum cumulative high school GPA of 2.8
• Transfer Students:
• Minimum cumulative college GPA of 2.3
• Knowledge of English as measured by Test of English as a Foreign Language (TOEFL) or comparable instrument. Minimum TOEFL score is 550 paper-based, 213 computer-based or 79 internet-based.
• Concordia accepts both the Intersegmental General Education Transfer Curriculum (IGETC) and the CSU General Education Breadth Requirements to fulfill most of the University’s general education requirements.

International First Year Application Requirements

• Print and Mail: Concordia University International Application (PDF - $50 fee required)
• Fee Payment Form
• Most recent, official, high school transcript
• Official transcripts must be sent directly from the high school or college to Concordia University in a sealed envelope.
• Transcript evaluation through www.ierf.org - detailed report
• Letter of Recommendation (PDF): Must be completed by applicant's employer, teacher or pastor.

International Transfer Application Requirements

• Print and Mail: Concordia University First Year Application (PDF - $50 fee required)
• Fee Payment Form
• Official transcript from each institution attended, covering all collegiate-level work undertaken. Good standing at each institution is required.
• Official transcripts must be sent directly from the high school or college to Concordia University in a sealed envelope.
• Transcript evaluation through www.ierf.org
• Letter of Recommendation (PDF): Must be completed by applicant's employer, teacher or pastor.

International Application FAQ

• Concordia University evaluates applications on a rolling basis.
• International Application deadline for Spring enrollment is February 1.
• International Application deadline for Fall enrollment is June 1.

Requirements to Obtain the I-20

• Affidavit of Financial Support
• Completed affidavit and supporting documents verifying that the applicant will be able to underwrite their total financial costs during their studies at Concordia University.
• Certificate of Bank Balance
• The amount the applicant needs to show proof of funding is $42,070. *This is an estimated amount and may change.*
• Color copy of applicant passport
