Meet Your Counselor: Minerva Rosas

Quick Facts

Name: Minerva Rosas
Hometown: Santa Ana, CA
Degree: B.A. Liberal Studies

Hobbies: Traveling, shopping, cooking, baking, and Disneyland.

About Me: I’m an alumnus of CUI, class of 2006. Go EAGLES! I come from a family of five; I’m the eldest and only daughter. I’m working towards becoming an Elementary school teacher. My life long career goal is to become a grade school principal, and to dedicate a year of my life to the Peace Corps. I currently live in Irvine, CA, with my hubby Frank.

How has college transformed you?
It has made me into the intelligent, competent, open-minded woman that I am today.

What advice would you give to prospective students?
No matter how hard and overwhelming school gets (and it will) there is a light at the end of the tunnel. Always follow your OWN passion in life, it’s the only way you will love what you do.

How would you describe the atmosphere of Orange County, California?
Orange County is a place of its own. It’s rich in culture, history, art, and people of all ages. It’s relaxed, homey, and of course extraordinary. It’s a place where within twenty minutes you can go from kayaking at the beach to Disneyland to hiking/biking in the local mountains and premium shopping at South Coast Plaza.
