The Concordia Master Chorale is seeking talented vocalists for its 2015-2016 performance season.
Exciting plans include performances of the Mozart Grand Mass in C minor, a monumental work which contains some of Mozart's most profound writing for chorus and orchestra. Also featured in the Concordia MasterWorks Concerts will be Bernstein’s Chichester Psalms and the Trinity Te Deum by the young Latvian composer, Eriks Esenvalds. The Master Chorale will be joined by the Concordia Choir, professional soloists, and a professional orchestra for its performances on April 23-24, 2016.
The upcoming season also includes the annual Fall Festival of Hymns on October 4, led by guest artist Michael Burkhardt. Dr. Burkhardt will lead choruses and audience from Concordia’s magnificent Casavant pipe organ in a program celebrating the hymns of the church throughout the world. The Concordia Master Chorale will also be featured in the Concordia Christmas Concerts entitled “Love Came Down at Christmas” in December 2015.
The Concordia Master Chorale performs under the direction of Dr. Michael Busch, who is conducting his twentieth season with the ensemble. Dr. Busch serves as Director of Choral Activities at Concordia University in Irvine, where he supervises the choral program of four choirs in addition to teaching choral methods, theory, and conducting.
