Rachel Beyer
Rachel Beyer is interested in painting the figure in a realistic light. She renders her forms with a subtle color scheme and she enjoys capturing intriguing metaphors in her images as well. Rachel's study of English at CUI weaves itself naturally into her painting. Her paintings also emphasize a shallow sense of space, while leading the viewer to contemplate the significance of her figures' lives and their relationship to each other. Through this study, Rachel's work as a painter is developing in a thoughtful light.
Kristine Sixsmith

Title: “Pandora’s Music Box”
Artist: Kristine Sixsmith
Media: Mixed Media |

Here we see Kristine Sixsmith working on assembling her mixed media installation called “Pandora’s Music Box”. Kristine is very resourceful, not afraid of tackling new media even if it involves substantial research and learning how to use new tools and equipment. |

Kristine had to redesign her installation during a few “trials and errors” as she faced unexpected difficulties, but she always kept her positive attitude and found ways of solving the challenges. |

The installation had to be moved a few times between different locations during the process of designing it, something that is quite challenging. It requires quite a bit of patience on the part of the artist. |

Kristine is also a talented water-colorist. This painting is called “Future’s Beginning.” |
