Second Degree Accelerated BSN Program

Do you have a Baccalaureate degree and desire to change your professional career? As a BSN student at CUI, you learn how to provide excellent, compassionate, and competent nursing care to individuals across the life span.

Who:

The Accelerated BSN program addresses the need for those desiring to change their professional career to becoming a Registered Nurse. The program is designed for graduates who already have a baccalaureate degree in any specialty from an accredited college or university. Students in this Nursing program are granted all units successfully completed in their first degree, but must complete or transfer credits to meet the prerequisites prior to beginning the nursing program. It is possible to receive a BSN at the end of three semesters.

What:

Our unique curriculum has been designed for students to learn the necessary knowledge and advanced skills to provide excellence in caring, compassionate, and competent nursing care.

The program includes 90 hours of clinical experience in a public health setting to prepare candidates to apply for the California Public Health Certificate. Additional clinical practica will include patient care in the areas of medical-surgical nursing, pediatric nursing, maternal-child nursing and psychiatric nursing.

Why:

All aspects of the nursing program reflect Concordia's Christian values orientation — in world view, in relationships with patients and their families, and in a servant leadership approach to the profession of nursing.

Where/When:

Nursing courses are held during the week on campus, and during weekends at various clinical sites. Each nursing student is assigned to a nursing advisor during their studies at CUI.
