*Candidates are considered "Out of Major" if their undergraduate major does not match the subject area they are going to teach. Here are two examples: A candidate may have an undergraduate degree in history, but is going for a secondary credential in chemistry; or the candidate may have a degree in art, and plans to go for a multiple subject elementary credential. As the undergraduate coursework does not match the test the candidate is required to take, the candidate will be required to pass the CSET before admittance to the Teacher Education Program.
