Korey Kobata
MCAA 570 Sport Medicine and Performance
Korey Kobata was born and raised in Los Angeles, California. She graduated from California State University, Long Beach in 2000 with a Bachelor of Arts in Kinesiology. After graduating from CSULB, Korey became the first graduate assistant athletic trainer at Concordia University. She completed her Masters of Education degree in 2003 and became the head athletic trainer. She has been working with an accredited athletic training program since 2005, supervises athletic training students and is responsible for the acute care, prevention, and rehabilitation of athletic injuries for 17 sports. During the summer, Korey is the athletic trainer for the Orange County Blue Stars, a semi-professional soccer team.
Korey has been working with Concordia for eight years and teaching in the Exercise Sport Science department for five years. Her classes include first aid and CPR, care and prevention of athletic injuries, observational clinical coursework in athletic training and athletic training administration. She is currently teaching in Concordia's MCAA program and teaching a course at CSULB in the Kinesiology department.
