New Faculty Member to Leverage Concordia's School of Business

          

Concordia University Irvine’s School of Business proudly welcomed Dr. Russell W. Mangum III to its faculty on July 1, 2013. Dr. Mangum’s solid education and experience in economics will be invaluable to students enrolled in the undergraduate business degrees: Bachelors of Arts in Economics, Bachelors of Arts in Business Administration and Economics Minor.

“The addition of Dr. Mangum and his expertise and experience to our Economics faculty will be a great addition to our new and growing economics programs,” said George W. Wright, Interim Dean for the School of Business.

Dr. Mangum is an established economist with over 20 years experience in economic research, analysis and teaching.  An Orange County native of the Seal Beach/Huntington Beach area and a graduate from Huntington Beach High School, he attended California State University Fullerton (B.A. in Economics with honors) and University of Southern California (M.A. and Ph.D. in Economics).

Professionally, Dr. Mangum served as an economist for the U.S. Federal Trade Commission in Washington, D.C. as well as held economic consultant positions with Nathan Associates Inc., PricewaterhouseCoopers and the Analysis Group. Dr. Mangum is currently the Senior Vice President and co-manager of the litigation practice for Nathan Associates Inc. in Irvine. His consulting firm focuses on economic analysis and expert testimony in a wide range of issues involving intellectual property, antitrust, class certification, statistical analysis and damage quantification. He’s served as a consulting and testifying expert in the private sector and for local, state and federal governments.

Academically, Dr. Mangum has taught economics courses in microeconomics, macroeconomics, statistics and econometrics for over two decades. He’s served as adjunct faculty at Fullerton College, Johns Hopkins University, University of Southern California, Pepperdine University and Concordia University Irvine.
