Who: Marc Prensky, internationally-acclaimed speaker, writer, consultant, and innovator in the field of education and learning.

What:  An Administrative Credential Symposium hosted by Concordia University Irvine to offer deep experience and insight into educating today’s youth. The focus will be on using technology such as social media, virtual worlds, programming, games and apps in powerful ways for learning.

Topics include: Brain Gain, Turning on the Lights, Engage Me or Enrage Me and Teaching Digital Natives: Partnering for Real Learning.

When:  Saturday, February 2, 2013– 8:00 a.m. – 12:00 p.m. Administrative Credential students meet with practicum supervisors for lunch and discussion from 12:15-1:15.

Marc Prensky’s professional focus is on K-12 education reform, with emphasis in helping teachers change their pedagogy in ways that are more effective for 21st century students.
