Concordia University Irvine’s School of Professional Studies Announces its New Dale Carnegie Certificate Program

IRVINE, Calif. (February 5, 2014) – Concordia University Irvine’s School of Professional Studies is now offering training certificates for working professionals who want to bring relevant business skills to their workplace. The six certificate programs offered are provided through a partnership with Dale Carnegie Training and offers the same caliber of education of the university level courses, but tailored for busy professionals.

Dale Carnegie Training Certificate Programs Offered:

  • Organizational Development
  • Professional Sales and Marketing
  • Management and Leadership
  • Healthcare Leadership – healthcare certificate level I
  • Healthcare Practice Management – healthcare certificate, level II
  • Healthcare Management – healthcare certificate, level III

“Certificate programs are designed for people who really want to advance their skills,” said Dr. Doug Grove, Assistant Provost for Concordia University Irvine. “They want the opportunity to move up in their organizations and also the opportunity to be better contributors in the workplace.”

Paul Marquardt, Associate Dean of the School of Professional Studies, said of the new program, “This provides professionals with a basis and foundation that they can use to advance their careers and immediately give back to their companies in terms of their productivity levels.”

The Dale Carnegie Certificate Programs will help managers boost training and proficiency for their employees and conversely, help employees be more marketable in their careers. They are flexible and tailor-made programs focused on industry-specific skills, emphasizing practical strengths as well as universal business skills. After you identify your needs as an employee or business, you choose the industry- or profession-specific certificate that best fits. Then, you will tailor your individual courses to have the greatest impact.

The course process occurs within two components:

  1. Dale Carnegie courses are offered locally in a physical classroom environment.
  2. Concordia courses delivered through Concordia University Irvine in either a physical classroom or an online course, or a combination (hybrid course format).

These course delivery styles ensure that you (or your team) are able to complete the certificate coursework without sacrificing current jobs and personal obligations.

"We are very excited about our relationship with Concordia University – Irvine,” said Thomas Otley, Senior Vice President of Dale Carnegie & Associates, Inc. “Concordia University and Dale Carnegie each have an excellent reputation for delivering high quality education. The Dale Carnegie - Concordia University partnership will provide business professionals an array of Professional Development Certificate programs that will accelerate their success and help them achieve their career goals."
