What: The Concert Handbells and Spirit Bells of Concordia University Irvine, California, will be performing May 6-17 in Georgia, South Carolina, North Carolina, Virginia, and Washington, DC, with a broad repertoire of sacred and secular works appealing to all ages and tastes - Debussy, Khachaturian, Sousa, along with polka, spirituals, unique settings of hymn tunes, original works, and change ringing, for full ensemble, solo, and quartet, concluding with their popular hands-on audience participation sing-along.
Tickets: A free will offering will be taken to defray expenses of the tour.

Who: The Concert Handbells and Spirit Bells of Concordia University Irvine, California, under the direction of Dr. Herbert Geisler and Nancy Jessup. The 27 ringers are selected from Concordia’s four handbell ensembles that involve as many as 50 students a year. They have enjoyed high acclaim in 30 states and provinces as well as in eleven nations of Europe and the Far East. This will be their third tour to the East Coast.
Additional Information: Familiar faces on the tour include CUI graduate Nick Hanson, full-time handbell teacher at The Potomac School a few miles from the National Capitol, Former CUI Women's Ensemble director Kathleen DeJardin, now parish music director at Holy Trinity Catholic Church, and Wally Horton, former music minister at Bethany Lutheran Church, Long Beach, CA, now director at Prince of Peace, Springfield.
