Concordia University to Host Free Stock Trading Seminar with TradeStation

Financial Experts from Concordia and TradeStation to Provide Key Insights and Progressive Tools for Evaluating Stocks and Successfully Navigating the Market

IRVINE, Calif. – November 7, 2014 – Concordia University’s School of Business announced a free training seminar presented with TradeStation, an online brokerage company that provides market and product analysis from its team of quantitative analysts and from other well-known traders and market analysts. Aimed at helping aspiring traders and professional brokers become more informed and well-rounded traders, the training will take place Saturday, November 15 from 10:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. and is open to the public.

“TradeStation has a strong reputation for providing information and education in the areas of market knowledge, analytical techniques and trading methods and is known as a dynamic resource for new and unique perspectives on markets and trading,” said Stephen Christensen, dean of Concordia’s School of Business. “Bringing together the innovative insights of TradeStation’s Stanley Dash and the compelling expertise of Robert McClatchy provides a tremendous opportunity for those interested in becoming more knowledge and prolific stock traders.”

Stanley Dash, vice president of Applied Technical Analysis at TradeStation, and Robert McClatchy, adjunct professor at Concordia, chief financial officer of 2-1-1 Orange County and board chair of Reef Check, will lead the training, each presenting on their area of expertise.

McClatchy will present “Pricing by Reformulating the ‘Graham Number’ as the ‘Clatch Price,’" which will provide an updated reformulation to the renowned economist Benjamin Graham’s formula for evaluating stock prices. McClatchy calls this reformulation the “Clatch Price,” and his training will cover how to calculate value ratios, examine Graham Number shortfalls, how to use Google spreadsheets to price equities and how to calculate the “Clatch Price.”

Dash will present “Candidate Selection: Finding the Symbols That Fit Your Trading Style,” covering several high-value trading tools including how stock and electronic transfer (ETF) traders can use their trading style or strategy to determine which symbols to trade, how to scan the markets for the symbols most likely to offer the opportunities you seek and how to measure intra-day price movement on individual symbols and relative to others.

Students, professionals and members of the community are invited to attend the free training, and advance registration is required. Event details are as follows:
