At Concordia University, Irvine there are many ways for students to participate in campus life. A few ways to get involved include participating in residence hall activities, taking on a student leadership role within our Associated Students Concordia University, Irvine (ASCUI), or by joining the RES team as a Resident Assistant. In addition to developing strong leaders, an on-campus movement known as abbey west is present to assist students in exploring, developing, and strengthening their faith and spirituality. Research suggests that students who live on campus and are involved feel a closer tie to the campus and are more likely to persist to graduation (Astin, 1984). Therefore, we encourage our students to find a balance between their academic studies and the pursuit of getting involved on campus.
