Tentative Student Orientation Schedule
Week of Welcome (WOW) at Concordia University Irvine is designed to help you:
- transition smoothly into your new environment
- connect you with the student body and develop friendships with your peers
- meet faculty and staff in an interpersonal setting
- learn about the campus culture
- acclimate to a new living situation
- problem-solve correctly to deal with transitional issues you may/will experience
With the help of Peer Advising Leaders (PALs), Resident Assistants (RAs) and other student leader groups and support staff from various departments on campus, WOW makes a great first impression that will stay with you throughout your time at Concordia. WOW is mandatory and features a myriad of events and activities both fun and informative. Each session has been planned with a specific purpose important for your success here at Concordia. Research shows that participation in orientation contributes to a smoother transition to college. Therefore, your involvement in WOW will positively impact your first-year experience here at Concordia University Irvine.

Who is WOW for?
- ALL incoming Fall students (freshmen, transfer students, visiting students and readmits)
- Parents/Family/Guests
Is there a WOW fee?
All new students will be assessed a $110 New Student Orientation fee on their student account whether or not they choose to participate. WOW is mandatory as the schedule is designed specifically to help you transition positively to Concordia.
How do I reserve a spot for myself and my parents/family?
All information and communication will be relayed electronically; therefore, check your Eagles Email consistently to make sure you are prepared for your arrival in August.
What should I wear?
Orange County will be somewhat warm when you arrive, so please dress accordingly to accommodate the weather. Concordia is a relaxed atmosphere. Attire is casual and we encourage you to wear comfortable clothing and shoes as you will be walking around campus and engaged in sessions that require you to be active.
How can I prepare for my arrival?
Prepare for your arrival by perusing our New Student Booklet and New Student Checklist. Here you will find information about our residence halls, meal plans, student mailboxes, campus resources, student involvement, etc. Check off the items on the New Student Checklist that you have already completed. Be aware of the deadlines and paperwork required of you.
Also, continue checking your Eagles email as relative information on WOW, HOLDs, and/or housing information will be relayed to you. To expedite your Clearance process, take care of your HOLDs, otherwise you will be taking care of it when you check-in. Only those students who have completed Clearance can check in for Housing.
