MBA Capstone
These four unit capstone courses will help students complete their curriculum through the creation of a publishable article in MBA 695 or a Business Plan in MBA 696. Students prepare for these courses through research in their earlier MBA curriculum so that they are ready to write their article or plan during these intensive writing courses.

MBA 695: Publishable Article
The objective of our MBA program is the development of the practice of business through our actions and through our dialogue with others. In this option, the student will write and present an original piece of research based on their business practice. This article is intended to initiate a conversation in the business community and add to the development of its community of practice. This paper is specifically developed through the work in our elective courses, as the student develops their specific and reflective practice of business.
In this course, the student will start by creating a portfolio of projects built around a functional resume. They would then pick one of these projects from their accomplishments and write it up for reflection in a business periodical. After the paper has gone through several drafts, through the consideration of its intended audience, it is submitted for publication. And finally it is presented to a public of their peers at our business school. See a sample syllabus for this course in action.
MBA 696: Business Plan
The core documents in the practice of business are business plans. Business plans have been the traditional capstone project in our MBA program. These plans have historically been proposals of classical entrepreneurial efforts seeking funding. However, business plans may also be internal corporate documents in support of new business development or line extensions. See our plans for creating your business plan.
