* An orientation session for the subsequent course in the sequence of courses is held during a Saturday before the semester/term in which the course is scheduled (e.g., EDD 702 is held on October 12th while the Fall 2 term begins on October 14th). The primary reasons for this arrangement are several-fold. The arrangement:

  • Increases the number of days that students have contact with the course instructor and course content to allow students as much time as possible to successfully achieve the course learning outcomes.
  • Allows instructors and students the opportunity to discuss from a “systems thinking” perspective how content from one course interrelates with content from another course.
  • Efficiently manages course hours and student time by scheduling two 4-hour sessions on one Saturday, instead of one 4-hour session on two separate Saturdays.
  • Allows the program to be in compliance with registrar and financial aid requirements.
