Purpose and Program Learning Outcomes

The purpose of the doctoral program is to develop transformative leaders who embody the knowledge, competencies, and skills necessary to guide organizations toward continuous improvement and sustained effectiveness. The program accomplishes this purpose through a rigorous and integrated curriculum focusing on theory and applied research in leadership, with emphasis on systems thinking in the development of analytical skills applicable to dynamic and diverse learning organizations.

Systems Thinking: Graduates will analyze and apply concepts and skills necessary to create, lead, and manage learning organizations as complex, responsive, and adaptive systems.

Scholarly Research: Graduates will initiate, assemble, arrange and reformulate ideas, concepts, designs and methods in carrying out a research project directed at a problem in the field of educational leadership.

Ethical Leadership: Graduates will analyze and apply standards of ethical leadership and management, utilizing a shared vision informed by Christian principles and values.

Effective Communication: Graduates will communicate clearly through appropriate methods and media, while monitoring, analyzing, and adjusting for diverse settings and context.

Reflective Practice: Graduates will engage in reflective practice balancing data driven decision making, informed logical thinking, and human dynamics.
