Concordia University Irvine’s Director of Healthcare Management Passes the FACHE Board Certification
July 30, 2013 (Irvine, Calif.)— Dr. Stephen Duarte, Concordia University Irvine’s Director of Healthcare Management program, has passed the Fellow of the American College of Healthcare Executives (FACHE) board certification. Dr. Duarte’s board certification in healthcare management verifies his in-depth knowledge and skills deemed critical for practice in the industry.
The rigorous Board of Governors Examination in Healthcare Management is only one criterion for becoming a Fellow and covers the following ten key areas required of healthcare executives today: governance and organizational structure, human resources, finance, healthcare technology and information management, quality and performance improvement, laws and regulations, professionalism and ethics, healthcare, management and business.
"Being board certified in healthcare management signifies your commitment to excellence, professional development and to the ongoing evolution of the profession,” said Dr. Duarte. “Fellows are recognized by their healthcare management colleagues, employers, policymakers and professionals in other healthcare disciplines as competent leaders who strive to make a difference in the health of our communities both here and abroad.”
“Dr. Duarte joined our faculty specifically to create our unique Bachelor of Science in Healthcare Management degree,” stated Dr. Timothy Peters, Dean of the School of Professional Studies. “He saw a great need for Concordia to provide leadership in the dynamic healthcare arena. His fellowship certification is testament not only to his personal commitment to healthcare, but also to his deep knowledge and experience in the field. We are fortunate to have such a leader on our faculty.”
